May 21, 2012—Tim Brandes of Gresham, Ore., was awarded the 2012 Outstanding Major in Sport Management Award during Honors Day May 15 at North Central College.
Brandes is a senior majoring in sport management and entrepreneurship/small business management. He is the son of Maureen Jones and a graduate of Portland Adventist Academy.
While a student at North Central, Brandes gained experience as a fan services representative for the Chicago Bears, as an inside sales intern at Sports Management Worldwide, as a ticket sales intern for the Sydney Kings, as a marketing intern at the Chicago Bulls/White Sox Training Academy and as a game day operations intern for the Kalamazoo Kings.
“While completing my education I have had the opportunity to do several internships, both domestically and internationally, working with various professional sports teams as well as with a professional sports agency,” Brandes says. “After school I am interested in pursuing a career in field sales or management.”
