The City of Naperville informs the public that annual maintenance on the city’s 25 outdoor warning sirens will take place throughout the week of Oct. 7-11, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
During this time, each of the city’s outdoor warning sirens will be activated individually for evaluation. The campus community should not be alarmed when the sirens go off.
As a reminder, the outdoor warning sirens are activated for the purpose of alerting people who are outdoors that a tornado warning has been issued for the Naperville area. When the steady tone of an outdoor warning siren is heard during severe weather, it’s imperative to find shelter immediately. For more information visit naperville.il.us.
