Nicole Autry ’11 was one of 14 students from across the country selected as part of the American Forensics Association National Individual Events Tournament (AFA-NIET) All-American Team. The All-Americans represent not only excellence in forensics, but also academics and community service, and are honored after a rigorous selection process. Previous North Central All-American Team members include Laura Fancher ’01 Bower, Lisa Barber ’03, Megan Orcholski ’05, Gillian Owens ’06 Gunnink and Sarah Brady ’08.
At the same tournament, Autry placed seventh (of 137 students) in persuasive speaking. She is majoring in speech communication. Other team members with successful performances at the national level were William Miller ’12, who placed 13th (of 124) in extemporaneous speaking and David Depino ’13, who was awarded 30th (of 146) in informative speaking.
