Robert Taylor M ’00 is one of 10 Chicago-area educators honored as recipients of a prestigious 2012 Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Teaching. Taylor is a second-grade teacher at Central Road School in Community Consolidated School District 15 in Palatine, IL, where he has taught since 1997. He was selected from a pool of 560 nominees teaching kindergarten through third grade in the Chicago area and was one of 32 finalists. Recipients of the 2012 Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Teaching will be honored at a black-tie event October 12 at WTTW/Channel 11 studios in Chicago. WTTW will also broadcast the awards in a one-hour television program following the event.
Taylor holds bachelor degrees in elementary education and psychology from Illinois Benedictine University and master degrees in curriculum and instruction from North Central College and developmental psychology from Illinois State University.
