Sandra Coughlin was appointed principal of Glenbard South High School and assumed the position on July 1. Coughlin has been Glenbard East High School’s assistant principal for instruction since 2011 and had worked in the Glenbard District for 17 years. “South has an excellent academic reputation with dedicated students and staff, and I look forward to building upon that standard of excellence through leadership and communication,” she said. Prior to becoming Glenbard East’s assistant principal, she was Glenbard District 87’s literacy and Title I coordinator from 2007 to 2011. From 1996 to 2007, she was a literacy instructional coach, reading specialist and family and consumer science teacher at Glenbard East. Coughlin earned her administrative leadership certification from North Central and holds a master of education from Southern Illinois University.
