Veronika Gagovic, M.D., returned to campus to speak to College Scholars and their families. She recounted the challenges she faced during her undergraduate and medical education and encouraged students to persevere and enjoy the journey. After graduating from North Central in biochemistry, Gagovic attended Loyola University Medical School and completed her internal medicine residency at Indiana University–Indianapolis. After a training fellowship in Madison, WI, she will start a private practice in gastroenterology. Gagovic recently established a North Central academic scholarship in memory of her father Dr. Esad Sadikovic, a well-known physician who was murdered in the Bosnian conflict and her inspiration to enter medicine.
