Some 36 members of the North Central College Women’s Chorale embarked on the ensemble’s second trip abroad. In June, the women traveled to Dublin, Galway, Killarney and Bray in Ireland and performed in historic cathedrals including St. Patrick’s in Dublin, St. Nicholas Collegiate Church in Galway, St. Mary’s Church of Ireland in Killarney and St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Bray. They also enjoyed seeing the spectacular Cliffs of Moher, Aran Islands and the Ring of Kerry.
The Women’s Chorale is directed by Ramona M. Wis, Mimi Rolland Professor in the Fine Arts and professor of music. In addition to Wis, other music faculty members who were part of the ensemble’s tour included Marie Bennett, Linda Ogden Hagen, Victoria VerHoven and Barbara Vanderwall, as well as several alumnae of the Women’s Chorale and Benna Wilde, wife of President Harold Wilde.
