For the fourth consecutive year, the College will conduct fire drills in 12 academic buildings during fall term. These fire drills will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 27, between 2 and 4:30 p.m. No residence halls are included, but will have separate drills during early October.
Here’s the lineup of approximate times and the buildings that will be involved in the Sept. 27 fire drills:
2 p.m. Kroehler Science Center
2:15 p.m. Kiekhofer Hall
2:30 p.m. Carnegie Hall
2:45 p.m. Old Main
3 p.m. Meiley-Swallow Hall
3:15 p.m. Wentz Concert Hall and Fine Arts Center
3:30 p.m. Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium and Merner Field House
3:50 p.m. Goldspohn Hall
4 p.m. Harold and Eva White Activities Center
4:15 p.m. Larrance Academic Center
4:30 p.m. Oesterle Library
When the alarm sounds, building residents need to evacuate immediately and go to the evacuation area identified for each building (the location is posted in each classroom). Do not use the elevators. The goal for evacuation time is two minutes.
Faculty who are teaching classes at the time of the drill are asked to keep students together, and staff supervisors should keep staff together in the correct evacuation area. Once at the safe area, each person is asked to find a building drill leader who is identified in a lime-green vest and print your name on a roster so everyone is accounted for. Once the fire department has checked the building, an all-clear signal will be given and people can return to the buildings. Each drill will take approximately 15 minutes.
Stairwell landings in all buildings are areas of refuge for anyone needing assistance down the stairs. For more information contact Donald Koletsos, assistant to the director of business operations and risk management coordinator, at x5656 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
