Aurora’s Bryan House is named for North Central College student Bryan Guzman ’08, who died in a tragic accident in December 2006. Bryan’s father is Professor of English Richard Guzman.
The Guzman family created a fund to establish Bryan House, one of several apartment homes in Emmanuel House CDC, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping working-class poor save and work their way out of poverty in a responsible and dignified manner. Emmanuel House is uncompromising in its commitment to work with refugees, immigrants and everyday working-class poor, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion or creed.
