Print Email Share

The College’s month-long Flamenco Festival will showcase the emotive, rhythmic music and dance from Spanish culture with performances, dance classes, films, a lecture and photography exhibit. All are free and hosted by the student club Fusión Española, Student Governing Association, the Office of Academic Affairs and Office of International Programs, with the exception of the Feb. 19 fine arts performance by Chicago’s Ensemble Espanol Spanish Dance Theater. Two events will kick off the celebration at noon Tuesday, Feb. 2. Adjunct Instructor of Spanish Jelena Sanchez will give a talk on “The Art of Flamenco” in Koten Chapel and the film Carmen will be shown in Meiley-Swallow Hall.
