John Madormo, North Central College assistant professor of broadcast communication and general manager of WONC-FM 89.1, has authored a young-readers novel that was released nationwide through publisher Penguin Books for Young Readers on May 10.

“The Homemade Stuffing Caper”—Madormo’s first book in the “Charlie Collier, Snoop for Hire” series—tells the story of sixth grader Charlie Collier, whose favorite books have always been mysteries. So when Charlie dons his father’s old trench coat, he thinks solving mysteries will be as easy as pie. But then he’s presented with a really big case. It involves the entire town and Charlie needs lots of help—from his friend Henry, their client Scarlet and a class bully who turns out to have some surprising secrets of his own.

Madormo has appeared at numerous promotional events, including schools, with a couple appearances next week in and around town. Tune in or visit the following:

•    Tuesday, May 15, a radio interview by 95.9/The River (WERV) morning host Scott Mackay, from 7:15 to 7:30 a.m. Due to a schedule change, this interview was originally scheduled for May 14.
•    Tuesday, May 15, book signing and author talk at Anderson’s Bookshops in Naperville, 123 W. Jefferson Ave., at 7 p.m.
