A primary strength of the College’s music program is its many student ensembles, directed by faculty. Several will give their final season performances this week. The NCC Percussion Ensemble will perform at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 2.
The Small Ensemble Recital will take the stage at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 3, featuring the Flute Choir, directed by Marie Bennett; String Ensemble, directed by Mara Gallagher; Saxophone Quartet, directed by Larry Van Oyen; and Percussion Ensemble, directed by George Blanchet. The recital will feature the music of Bach, Mozart, Lent, Beck, Bottesini, Glazunov, Bozza, Rimsky-Korsakov, John Lennon and Paul McCartney, as well as a newly commissioned work by percussionist Ben Wahlund.
Both concerts are free and will be held in Wentz Concert Hall.
