New tenure-track faculty

North Central College appointed three new full-time, tenure-track faculty for the 2009-2010 academic year. They are: •    Alberto Fonseca, assistant professor of Spanish. Previously a graduate teaching assistant at the University of Kansas and at Virginia Tech, Fonseca specializes in 19th and 20th century Latin American literature and instruction in Spanish at all levels. He holds a B. A. in literature from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, an M.A. in history from Virginia Tech and a Ph.D. from the University of Kansas. •    Allison Purcell Hayes, assistant professor of accounting. A CPA, Hayes has worked in the accounting profession for Caterpillar, Inc., and as a senior tax consultant for the Private Client Advisors group with Deloitte Tax, LLP. She holds a B.A. in accounting from St. Ambrose University and an M.S. in accounting science from Northern Illinois University. •    Daniel “Rocky” VanHorn, assistant professor of psychology. Previously a psychology instructor, teaching assistant and researcher at Purdue University, VanHorn also received both his M.S. and Ph.D. in psychology from Purdue. He holds a B.S. in psychology from Wittenberg University.
