North Central student Jacqueline Roller hosted her first solo art show July 16 at the Naperville Art League. The Naperville resident plans to complete her studies in 2012 with a double-major in studio art and psychology.
“I love exploring the textures, patterns and colors found in the ocean and in nature,” Roller told The Naperville Sun in a story about her solo show. “The work I’ve been doing the past three years has been very experimental; I’m trying to find what expresses the appreciation I have of the natural world, while adding touches of the free-spirited youthful energy I have coursing through me.”
Roller hoped to raise money from sales during the show to help cover the costs of a study abroad experience this fall in Greece, where she plans to study art and art history.
Roller is among the artists whose work is featured in “Current Visions,” an exhibit of works by members of the Naperville Art League and winners of the annual Riverwalk Fine Art Fair awards. The exhibit runs through July 31 in the College’s Schoenherr Gallery at the Fine Arts Center.
