Guitar enthusiasts of all kinds will want to see and hear classical guitarist Jason Vieaux Friday, Feb. 18. Touted as one of “the leading guitarists of his generation” by Absolute Sound magazine and one of the “stars of the guitar world” by the New York Times, he will perform at 8 p.m. in Wentz Concert Hall.
Thanks to Residence Life, all students can attend FREE of charge; simply present your student ID at the box office for a reserved seat. The rest of the campus community has great ticket options too. Price levels are $25 and $20 or half price when you call the box office after noon Friday and ask for CardinalTix.
Arrive early and view a collection of 60 classic guitars in a new exhibit in Schoenherr Art Gallery at the Fine Arts Center. The collection includes Fender Stratocasters, Gibson Les Pauls, Flying Vees, Sunbursts, Hollowbodies and other instruments from the collections of Marguerite and Rich Waters and Dave Kelsch. There will be an opening reception in the gallery with free refreshments from 6 to 8 p.m.
