Mallory says she added a coaching minor to her studies, “so I could learn the skills for teaching and sharing my passion for lacrosse and other sports.”
Her courses in team and individual coaching, sport management, health and fitness and classroom teaching opportunities are preparing her to do just that. Mallory’s dream is to be a women’s high school or college lacrosse coach. A summer job as a lacrosse coach, which one of her professors referred to her, is one more step in that direction.
“North Central’s professors are great coaches and teach you the skills you need to be an outstanding coach yourself. I’m learning from some of the best coaches in the country.”
Though Mallory’s career focus may be in other areas, she admits “I will always want to be coaching and playing lacrosse and helping others learn how to play.”
