Tony didn’t have to worry about job hunting as he approached his final months at North Central College. The accounting major had already accepted a full-time position, which started after graduation, in Deloitte’s global tax department.
Lots of hard work—plus a supportive faculty—set the Chicago native up for quick success.
“My professors played a crucial role in helping me get to where I am today,” says Tony, whose long-term goals include earning an MBA and becoming a partner in an accounting firm. “There’s an enormous amount of opportunity for a student who decides to major in accounting at North Central.”
Tony served as vice-president of the Student Accounting Society and played on the football team. He enjoyed the College’s relatively small size, calling the campus atmosphere “close-knit and family-like.”
“What’s most unique in a small school setting like this one is the opportunity for one-on-one relationships with our professors,” he says.
North Central’s close proximity to one of the country’s largest markets was a major selling point for Tony. He and many of his classmates secured internships with large companies based in Chicago. A previous internship experience at Deloitte led to Tony’s full-time job offer.
