Whether this is your first time leaving home for college or you are transferring to North Central College, we’re thrilled to welcome you to the Cardinal Family. This is an exciting time, but we also know there is a lot of information to keep track of. To assist you in preparing for this new chapter in your life, this resource page will provide everything you’ll need to think about in the coming weeks and months.
Summer Orientation 2020
May 28; June 11, 16, 18, 23, 25
Your immersion into campus culture will begin with a one-day Summer Orientation and Registration program. It’s an exciting time of introductions—you’ll meet new friends and classmates, get acquainted with our helpful orientation staff, your faculty, first-year mentors, and your academic advisor. You’ll also register for your fall semester classes and gain access to all of our technology services. You’ll be a certified Cardinal! Dates will be assigned to the incoming student in the spring via email and mail. Accommodations will be made to the best of our ability.
Cardinal Camps 2020
Going to college is one of life’s most important transitions. Studies show that if you start college well, you’ll not only finish well but make the most of the amazing opportunities in between. Cardinal Camps are the best way to begin your college experience. Each camp is uniquely designed to connect you with new friends, faculty and staff while introducing you to life as a North Central Cardinal—before classes even start.
Welcome Week is filled with exciting activities and important workshops designed for new students living on and off campus. From a seamless move-in experience to group activities, your first days at North Central will be inviting and fun. This is your opportunity to get acclimated to college by connecting with new friends and creating new memories.
We’ll cover the nuts and bolts to ensure you’re fully equipped with everything you need—ID cards, class schedules, books and maps. But you’ll also get a jump-start on our academic environment and you'll experience a jam-packed schedule of fun and exploration that takes you from downtown Naperville to downtown Chicago. You’ll enjoy music, comedians, competitions, service projects and even a Casino Night.
Your first year sets the tone for your entire college career. We have an exciting and comprehensive vision for this important transition year–we call it the First Year Seminar (FYS). It goes beyond Summer Orientation and Welcome Week and provides an extensive support framework to inform and guide your decisions. You’ll learn how to access the academic, social, personal and technological resources that will help create a successful and seamless transition to college and beyond.
