North Central College professor cited in report on changes in Naperville leadership

Sep 14, 2012

North Central College professor Thomas D. Cavenagh spoke with Naperville Community Television for a report about changes in leadership at Naperville institutions.

Several changes in leadership are occurring around town, including a newly appointed Naperville city manager and police chief. Naper Settlement, the Naperville Public Library, the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce and North Central College also will experience changes in leadership this year as chief executives retire or step aside.

Cavenagh is North Central College’s Schneller Sisters Professor of Leadership, Ethics and Values; professor of business law and conflict resolution; director of the Leadership, Ethics and Values program; and coordinator of the Master of Leadership Studies program. In the report, his commentary addresses such questions as whether it’s better for an organization to promote from within or conduct a broader search when considering a new chief executive.
