U.S. News & World Report magazine ranks North Central College among America’s Best Colleges for 2013.

North Central College is ranked No. 13 in the Midwest in the Regional Universities category—schools that offer a full range of undergraduate and master’s degrees. North Central College was ranked No. 23 among Midwest Regional Universities for 2012.

This is the 19th consecutive year U.S. News & World Report has ranked North Central College among America’s Best Colleges.

U.S. News bases its rankings on a system that evaluates up to 15 indicators of academic excellence, including assessment by administrators at other institutions and high school counselors, student retention, faculty resources, financial resources, graduation rates and alumni giving.

“The college admission process can be daunting, and rankings can help parents and students make informed choices,” says Laurie Hamen, North Central College’s vice president for enrollment management, athletics and student affairs. “When considered along with our fabulous location, great academic programs and competitive financial aid offerings, our excellent ratings by college guides can be part of that decision-making process.”

The U.S. News & World Report ranking is the latest accolade for North Central College. The Princeton Review recently named North Central a Best Midwestern College in its annual survey of the nation’s best colleges. The Colleges of Distinction guide called North Central College “one of the best comprehensive liberal arts colleges in the nation” in its 2012-2013 listing. And Forbes magazine named North Central College among the top 25 percent of the nation’s colleges and universities, ranking it among America’s Top Colleges for 2012-2013.
