Sep 27, 2012
North Central College’s College Union Activities Board (CUAB) will host popular singer/songwriter Andy Grammer in concert with indie artist Josh Damigo opening on Oct. 6.
The concert begins at 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, in the College’s Wentz Concert Hall at the Fine Arts Center, 171 E. Chicago Ave. Lobby doors open at 7 p.m. and concert hall doors at 7:30 p.m.; seating is general admission. Tickets for North Central students are $3/person. Tickets for the general public are $10/person and are limited; call 630-637-SHOW (7469) or visit northcentralcollege.edu/showtix.
Known for his vibrant pop/rock/soul mix and free-flowing vocal delivery, Andy Grammer has emerged as one of the biggest success stories in the music business. The singer, songwriter and musician performed on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” and “Live with Regis & Kelly,” shared the stage with Taylor Swift and Colbie Caillat and a summer tour with Train.
Grammer was the first male pop star since 2003 (Jason Mraz) to reach the top 5 adult pop radio with his first single “Keep Your Head Up,” which is a certified Gold Record and quickly approaching Platinum. Radio has embraced his follow-up single “Fine By Me” and he’s been performing to sellout crowds during his first headlining tour.
Rising singer/songwriter and guitarist Josh Damigo will open the concert performing songs from his latest 17-song album “Hope” and award-winning tunes from his debut album “Raw.”
This event is sponsored by CUAB. The North Central student club plans events for students and the community throughout the academic year. For more information contact Derek Sanderson at dasanderson@noctrl.edu.
