Jeremy Gudauskas among North Central presenters at leadership summit

Nov 02, 2012

North Central College alumni and staff were guest speakers at the Echelon Leadership Summit, a one-day, community-driven leadership event held at the Northern Illinois University Naperville campus on Oct. 31. The leadership summit focused on six different tracks of interest—new leaders, entrepreneurs, nonprofits, organizations and more—with the goal of exploring new approaches to becoming effective leaders in today’s fast-paced world.

Jeremy Gudauskas ’99, North Central College associate dean of students, was among four presenters in his particular track designed by and for emerging leaders. His interactive workshop was titled “Communicating Across Generations: Developing Dialogue Skills for Effective Communication.”

Other members of the North Central College community who presented included Josh Seago M ’09 (left), vice president at Naperville Bank & Trust. He earned an M.B.A. at North Central, where he’s also an adjunct faculty member, serves on the Alumni Board and the M.B.A. Alumni Advisory Board. Seago was the designated leader of the emerging leaders track and also a presenter with Gudauskas. His presentation was titled “Successful Ways of Leading—Leadership Concepts and Practices.”

Ray Kinney, president of Minuteman Press Naperville and partner at Maclyn Group, is a North Central College Trustee and honorary alumnus. In 2010, he was awarded North Central’s first honorary bachelor of science in public service. At the summit, Kinney was a presenter in the entrepreneurship track, designed for the business owner looking to make that leap beyond $1 million in revenue. His talk was titled “Hitting the $1M Mark and Beyond.”

Chad Pedigo ’06, fine arts manager, also was scheduled to present as part of the emerging leaders track, but was ill and unable to participate. His topic was “Developing Your Leadership Abilities and Leveraging Your Community.”
