North Central College to host Women’s Leadership Retreat for students Feb. 15-17
Jan 25, 2013
North Central College’s Leadership, Ethics and Values and Student Life programs are planning the College’s first Women’s Leadership Retreat for students on Feb. 15-17.
The three-day workshop will allow 20 female students the opportunity to become stronger, more daring and more thoughtful leaders, says Renee Kosiarek, assistant to the director of the Leadership, Ethics and Values program.
“Students will learn about the complexities of leading as women,” Kosiarek says. “They will develop thoughtful visions and goals for their futures, discuss potential obstacles to success, learn about the art of negotiating, and develop plans to cope with adversity and complexity. By the end of the retreat, we hope students will have well-crafted visions and goals and some tools that will help them thrive as leaders.”
Registration is limited to 20 participants and begins Monday, Jan. 28, at the front desk of the Harold and Eva White Activities Center. Cost is $25 and includes meals and transportation to and from the College’s property in Dixon. The group will depart campus at 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, and return on Sunday, Feb. 17.
In addition to Kosiarek, the event will be facilitated by Suzanne Chod, assistant professor of political science; Tammy Wynard, visiting instructor of health and physical education; and Kate Schmidt, area hall director. Contact Kosiarek at rkkosiarek@noctrl.edu to learn more.
