Madormo discusses new, second novel at Anderson’s Feb. 23

John Madormo, North Central College assistant professor of broadcast communication and general manager of WONC-FM 89.1, will be the featured author at Anderson’s Bookshops on Feb. 23 at a book signing event of his newest work, “The Camp Phoenix Caper.” Released Feb. 21, his new novel is the second book in the “Charlie Collier, Snoop for Hire” mystery series for middle-grade readers.
The book-signing event and opportunity to meet Madormo is set for 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at Anderson’s Bookshops, 123 W. Jefferson St., in Naperville.
His first book in the Charlie Collier series, “The Homemade Stuffing Caper,” has been on Amazon’s list of Hot New Releases and its top Best Sellers in the Mysteries/Espionage/Detectives category. Its success has garnered him numerous speaking opportunities and interviews in print publications and on radio. More recently, he spoke to some 400 local teachers, librarians and enthusiasts of children’s literature at an annual Children’s Literature Breakfast in Glen Ellyn.
His third book in the series, “The Copycat Caper,” is set for release in fall 2013.
Madormo joined North Central’s faculty in 1980. He earned his B.A. from Northern Illinois University.
