North Central College presents Broadway musicals star Jason Forbach May 19

Singer/actor and veteran of Broadway shows Jason Forbach will perform “A New Leading Man,” a special evening of cabaret music May 19 at North Central College.

The performance begins at 6 p.m. Sunday, May 19, in North Central College’s Madden Theatre at the Fine Arts Center, 171 E. Chicago Ave. Tickets are $35 and $30; call the North Central College Box Office at 630-637-SHOW (7469).

“A New Leading Man” is an evening of songs charting the evolution of modern male characters on the musical theater stage.

Forbach is a classically trained vocalist, songwriter and entertainer. He recently starred as Enjolras in the 25th aniversary production of “Les Misérables” and has performed on Broadway and the classical music and television stage. Forbach also starred in a production of “The Phantom of the Opera” in Las Vegas.

He has performed at The New York Festival of Song tribute to Hal Prince at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall and with the Las Vegas Philharmonic and Abilene Philharmonic orchestras, the Boston Lyric Opera, and he was a Metropolitan Opera National Council regional semifinalist.

Forbach holds a bachelor's degree in vocal performance from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a master’s in vocal performance from the New England Conservatory in Boston. He recently self-produced his first solo album, “A New Leading Man,” and a collection featuring his songwriting debut, “Remembering To Dream.”
