Hayes wins Outstanding Educator Award from CPA society

Allison Hayes, North Central College assistant professor of accounting, was chosen to receive the Illinois CPA Society’s 2013 Outstanding Educator Award. She will be recognized at the Illinois CPA Society Leadership Recognition Dinner on June 10.

Criteria for this award include excellence in teaching, excellence in student motivation and mentoring, educational innovation, and contributions to the academic community and/or the accounting profession.

The Illinois CPA Society noted, “As an Illinois educator at a community college, college or university who has made continuous and outstanding contributions to the education of accounting students, you have been nominated by a colleague, student, administrator or other interested party for the 2013 Outstanding Educator Award.”

A CPA, Hayes has worked in the accounting profession for Caterpillar, Inc., and as a senior tax consultant for the Private Client Advisors group with Deloitte Tax, LLP.

Hayes joined North Central’s faculty in 2009 and holds a B.A. in accounting from St. Ambrose University and an M.S. in accounting science from Northern Illinois University.
