Schacht gives poster presentation at national psychology conference

Patricia Schacht, North Central College assistant professor of psychology, gave a poster presentation about her research on bullying at a national psychology conference, the Society for Research in Child Development, held in Seattle April 18-20. The poster was titled “The Effects of Marital Conflict and Parenting on Children’s Bullying, Victimization, and Coping Behaviors.”

Schacht co-presented with recent graduate Rachel Garthe ’12, who majored in psychology and was a College Scholar. Garthe is a graduate student at Virginia Commonwealth University.
 
Schacht is working on developing a prevention program based on findings from her research project.

A member of North Central’s faculty since 2008, Schacht earned her B.A. from the University of Notre Dame, an M.S. from the University of Cardiff, Wales, and a Ph.D. from the University of Notre Dame.
