T.J. Hagen earns Outstanding Major in Classical Civilization Award

Taylor (T.J.) Hagen, son of Karen and Sean Hagen, of Naperville was awarded the Outstanding Major in Classical Civilization Award during Honors Day May 14 at North Central College.

A senior, T.J. has a double major in classical civilization and in history at North Central College. He is a graduate of Naperville Central High School.

T.J. presented his academic research at two symposiums and most recently gave an oral presentation titled “Crafting Roman History” at the College’s 2013 Rall Symposium for Undergraduate Research. T.J.’s name has regularly appeared on the Dean’s List. A student of ancient Greek and Latin, he served as a tutor in Latin and a preceptor for his professors. He also spent three weeks studying abroad in Greece and Rome.

After graduation in June, he plans to pursue a master’s degree at Syracuse University in library and information science with a certificate of study in digital libraries. His field of interest is digital humanities.
