Brian Zable earns Outstanding Major in Computer Science Award

Brian Zable, son of David and Andrea Zable of Elmhurst, Ill., was awarded the Outstanding Major in Computer Science Award during Honors Day May 14 at North Central College.

A senior, Brian is majoring in computer science at North Central College and enrolled in the College’s five-year bachelor’s/master’s program in Web and Internet applications. He is a graduate of York Community High School.

Brian has been active in the College’s computer science department, serving as a preceptor in classes and participating in the regional programming competition.

He and several other students assisted with research on open source parking and traffic programs. Their project, titled “Counting Cars: A Journey Into Open Source Hardware,” was presented at the College’s 2013 Rall Symposium for Undergraduate Research. His name has regularly appeared on the Dean’s List.
