Elizabeth Linning earns Outstanding Major in Elementary Education Award

Elizabeth Linning, daughter of Robert and Catherine Linning of Crystal Lake, Ill., was awarded the Outstanding Major in Elementary Education Award during Honors Day May 14 at North Central College.

A senior, Linning is majoring in elementary education at North Central College. Her name has regularly appeared on the Dean’s List.

She’s been actively involved in tutoring refugee children as part of a local school’s service learning program and in North Central’s Junior/Senior Scholars program, a college readiness program for students in high-need schools. She is a graduate of Crystal Lake South High School.

Linning has been offered a position teaching fourth grade at the Fred Rodgers Magnet Academy in East Aurora in fall 2013.
