Jessica Pantel earns Outstanding Major in Sociology and Anthropology Award

Jessica Pantel, daughter of James and Valerie Pantel of Beach Park, Ill., was awarded the Outstanding Major in Sociology and Anthropology Award during Honors Day May 14 at North Central College.
A senior, Jessica is majoring in sociology and anthropology at North Central College. She is a graduate of Waukegan High School.
Pantel held an internship with The Field Museum in Chicago and was awarded the College’s 2012 Gloria Levitt Scholarship for Anthropology for her work with the museum. She spent the summer after her junior year in Peru as part of an archeological field school experience where she conducted independent research made possible through a North Central College Richter Independent Study Fellowship grant. She was selected to present her findings at the 2012 National Conference on Undergraduate Research
Her name has regularly appeared on the Dean’s List.
