Katherine Hoekstra earns Outstanding Major in Entrepreneurship & Small Business Management Award

Katherine Hoekstra, daughter of Steve and Junell Hoekstra, of St. Anne, Ill., was awarded the Outstanding Major in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management Award during Honors Day May 14 at North Central College.

A senior, Katherine is majoring in management and entrepreneurship and small business management at North Central College. She is a graduate of Bishop McNamara High School.

Katherine worked as an intern at the popular clothing store American Eagle and was awarded a Richter Independent Study Fellowship by the College to fund her independent project, titled “Act Local, Think Global: Integration into the Chinese Market,” which included travel to China. She also presented her research findings in a poster presentation during the College’s 2013 Rall Symposium for Undergraduate Research.

An active member of the Entrepreneurship and International Business Organization on campus, Katherine’s name regularly appears on the Dean’s List.
