Ryan Murphy earns Outstanding Major in Physics Award

Ryan Murphy, son of Ronald and Sharon Murphy of Buffalo Grove, Ill., was awarded the Outstanding Major in Physics Award during Honors Day May 14 at North Central College.
A senior, Ryan is majoring in physics at North Central College. He is a graduate of Vernon Hills High School.
He will continue his studies in a doctoral program in physics at Indiana University in Bloomington.
Ryan landed an internship at Argonne National Laboratories, doing research and development for high-energy neutrino detectors to be built at Fermilab and elsewhere. He’s been involved in the College’s summer research program where he conducts research with his physics professors and has worked as a lab assistant helping other students. Ryan’s name has regularly appeared on the Dean’s List.
