Forbes magazine ranks North Central College among America’s Top Colleges for 2013-2014.
Forbes includes North Central College among the top 25 percent of the nation’s colleges and universities. The magazine profiles the top 650 of the nearly 2,500 four-year institutions of higher learning in the United States. Forbes ranks North Central College No. 106 in the Midwest, No. 306 in the nation among private colleges and No. 456 overall.
The annual rankings are compiled for Forbes by the Washington, D.C.-based Center for College Affordability. The rankings are based on five general categories: post graduate success (32.5 percent), which evaluates alumni pay and prominence; student satisfaction (27.5 percent), which includes professor evaluations and freshman-to-sophomore year retention rates; debt (17.5 percent), which penalizes schools for high student debt loads and default rates; four-year graduation rate (11.25 percent); and competitive awards (11.25 percent), which reward schools whose students win prestigious scholarships and fellowships like the Rhodes, the Marshall and the Fulbright, or go on to earn a Ph.D.
