Princeton Review names North Central College among nation’s best colleges for 2014

Sep 11, 2013

The Princeton Review has once again named North Central College a Best Midwestern College in its annual survey of the nation’s best colleges.

North Central College is among institutions profiled by The Princeton Review, which publishes “The Best 378 Colleges, 2014 Edition.”

The Princeton Review’s distinctions are based on surveys of 126,000 college students nationwide. The Princeton Review began surveying college students and publishing its findings in 1992.

North Central College students who were surveyed said they liked the College’s Naperville location and how its proximity to Chicago helped them secure internships and other career opportunities. Students also praised North Central College’s “wonderful study abroad program,” “great science department” and “dedicated and accessible” professors.

Colleges and universities selected for regional recognition must pass The Princeton Review’s criteria for academic excellence and allow students attending those schools to participate in independent surveys.

“Some questions on our student surveys are open ended and invite students to answer in their own words,” the Princeton Review says. “Student quotations in our profiles are not chosen for their extreme nature, humor or unique perspective. Rather, they are chosen because they represent the sentiments expressed by the majority of survey respondents from the college.”
