Sarah Lureau, North Central College assistant professor of accounting, chaired and coordinated the Illinois Accounting Teachers Conference (ILATC), held Sept. 27-28 and hosted by North Central College.

Some 75 faculty members from various colleges and universities across Illinois attended the conference, which offered 10 sessions and 10.5 continuing professional education credits for certified public accountants. The conference theme was based on “Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow of Accounting Education.”

Assisting Lureau was a planning committee, which included faculty from North Central and other college accounting departments and North Central divisional secretaries.

The mission of the ILATC is to offer an annual gathering for full-time and adjunct faculty that creates a forum for networking among colleagues of four-year and community colleges and encourages excellence in teaching with presentations on techniques, skills and resources.

Lureau has been a member of the College’s faculty since 2008. A C.P.A. and C.F.E., she earned a B.S. from Marist College and an M.A.S. from Northern Illinois University.
