Radiation Therapy

Degenhardt is interviewed in Chicago Tribune article

Nov 12, 2013

Marguerite Degenhardt, North Central College pre-professional health program coordinator, was featured in an Oct. 27 Chicago Tribune article, titled “Radiation therapists among highest earners in health care support positions” in the Healthcare business section.

In the article she talked about the types of courses, degree and training that are needed in radiation therapy, as well as the type of person. “[Radiation therapists] work with highly educated people, such as physicians and physicists, as you’re preparing to administer treatment to patients. You’re always learning because new and improved radiation therapy techniques are continuously coming out … Teamwork is also a very important component of the work.”

Degenhardt joined North Central 2010 and holds a doctor of nursing practice (D.N.P.) from Rush University College of Nursing.
