Wis rehearsed the 306-voice chorus, chosen by audition from among 50 high school choral programs in the western and northwestern Illinois area, and then conducted the ensemble in a culminating concert, which also featured the Honors Band and Honors Chorus of District IX.

A nonprofit organization, the IMEA sponsors and organizes performance festival experiences for student musicians, provides professional growth opportunities for music educators, and promotes and supports music as a vital component in the complete education of every child in school.

Wis joined North Central’s faculty in 1994. She earned her B.S. from the University of Illinois, her M.M. from Northern Illinois University and her Ph.D. from Northwestern University.
