Apr 01, 2014

North Central College’s choral ensembles will perform a special concert at the Fourth Presbyterian Church at 126 E. Chestnut St. and North Michigan Avenue at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 10. The event is free, but a free-will offering will be taken.

The concert features some 150 singers from the College’s Concert Choir, Women’s Chorale, Chamber Singers and Cardinal Chorus, performing at the cathedral for the first time. Located in the Magnificent Mile neighborhood, Fourth Presbyterian Church hosts an active performance calendar featuring professional, collegiate and exemplary community music ensembles.

The concert brings North Central’s choral program to the Chicago community for alumni, prospective students, community members and supporters of the College.

The ensembles are directed by conductors Ramona Wis, Mimi Rolland Professor in the Fine Arts and professor and chair of music, and Jacqueline Schutt, visiting instructor of music. Accompaniment will be provided by Barbara Shiffler ’71 Vanderwall, J. M. Willaert ’13 and Jon Warfel.
