Murawska presented research to local, international groups

Jaclyn Murawska, North Central College adjunct assistant professor of mathematics, presented her recent research findings locally and internationally.

In April, Murawska was an invited speaker for the Elmhurst College Department of Mathematics Seminar Series. There, she presented the lecture titled “Preservice Teachers’ Conceptual Understanding of Place Value: Developing Unitization, Flexibility, and Reversibility.”

In July, she will present her paper titled “Developing Conceptual Understanding of Place Value: One Preservice Teacher’s Journey” at the Joint Meeting of the International Group for the Psychology of Mathematics Education (PME 38) and the North American Chapter of the Psychology of Mathematics Education (PME-NA 36) in Vancouver, Canada.
 
Murawska joined North Central’s faculty in 2008. She received a B.S. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, an M.S.T. from the University of Illinois at Chicago and an Ed.D. from Northern Illinois University.
