May 22, 2014
Samantha Eby ’14, a psychology major at North Central College, was recently recognized for her academic work. She received the Council on Undergraduate Research-Midwestern Psychological Association Faculty Student Research Award in recognition of her project, titled “Quantitative electroencephalography patterns in trauma-induced anxiety: An exploratory study.”
Gaps among trauma informed care professionals are ample. If you desire to advance change for schools and organizations, North Central College's trauma informed certification program will propel your skillset.
The work was done as an independent study that started last summer at NeuroHealth Associates under the supervision of Maggie Gill, North Central College assistant professor of neuroscience, and Dr. Kyle Bonesteel of NeuroHealth. Eby is the third consecutive North Central student to win this annual award.
A Belvidere resident, Eby is a member of the psychology honor society Psi Chi and her name regularly appears on the College’s Dean’s List of scholars. She has presented at the prestigious National Conference on Undergraduate Research and North Central’s Rall Symposium for Undergraduate Research.
Psychology is among the more than 55 majors, minors and other areas of study offered at North Central College.
