Diana Leviton Gondek presents her collection of oil paintings

Jun 10, 2014

North Central College will showcase a collection of works by Diana Leviton Gondek in “Insight / In Sight.”

Her free exhibit will present a variety of oil paintings June 27-Aug. 17 in the College’s Schoenherr Gallery at the Fine Arts Center, 171 E. Chicago Ave. The public is invited to meet the artist during a reception from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, June 29, in the gallery. Complimentary refreshments will be served.

While Gondek’s latest paintings reflect the theme of her earlier works—her observations of human nature—the new exhibit represents a tonal shift for the artist.

“My new collection ‘Insight / In Sight’ shifts from my earlier elaborate scenarios,” says Gondek (photo, left). “There are straightforward and colorful themes with my present pieces, a style combining my earlier work with strong influences from Pop Art.”
