Kevin Jackman earns Outstanding Major in Broadcast Communication Award
Jun 10, 2014
Kevin Jackman, son of Andrew and Susan Jackman of Glenview, was awarded the Outstanding Major in Broadcast Communication Award during Honors Day May 13 at North Central College in Naperville.
A senior, Kevin is a double major in broadcast communication and interactive media studies at North Central College. He is a graduate of Glenbrook South High School.
Kevin is the station manager at North Central’s student-run radio station, WONC-FM 89.1, and is responsible for supervising 75 student broadcasters. During his tenure at WONC, he has been nominated for, and won, many awards through the Illinois Broadcasting Association (IBA) and the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System (IBS), including first-place awards for Best Sports Play-By-Play, Best Podcast, Best Radio Spot and Best Use of Interactive Media. This month, he was nominated for Best Sportscaster by the IBA, an award typically reserved for commercial radio stations in the state, rather than for non-commercial college radio stations.
His name has regularly appeared on the Dean’s List.
