Stephania Rodriguez earns three awards at 2014 Honors Convocation

Stephania Rodriguez, daughter of Sergio and Norma Rodriguez of Aurora, was recognized with three awards—Outstanding Major in Human Resource Management, Outstanding Student in Division of Economics and Business, and Outstanding Service to Student Life—during Honors Day May 13 at North Central College in Naperville.
A senior, Stephania is majoring in human resource management with a minor in Spanish at North Central College. She is a graduate of Oswego East High School.
Stephania is a mentor for the Premier Scholars Program and has been a resident assistant for three years. She applied for and was accepted into the Undergraduate Fellows Program of Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education (NASPA). Acceptance into the program ensures access to mentoring, a national conference, paid internships and participation in NASPA’s Summer Leadership Institute. She plans to pursue graduate school in higher education and student affairs at Indiana University.
She completed the College Scholars Honors program and presented her honors thesis at North Central’s Rall Symposium for Undergraduate Research and the National Conference on Undergraduate Research. Her thesis was titled “The Working Woman: How Societal Perceptions of Female Leaders Affect Staffing and Generate Obstacles for Women in Higher Education Organizations.” Her name has regularly appeared on the Dean’s List.
