Recent North Central College alumni have recommended some #NCCBucketList of experiences for the new Class of 2018 students to help them become Cardinals for Life.

Here are their recommendations:

  1. Study abroad. Says Laura Elizabeth Currey ’09: “Study abroad was by far the best part of college!!!”
  2. Get involved in extracurricular activities. Says Benjamin Davis ’14: “Join the forensics team or an a cappella group like Sonata Problem. Being involved builds friendships while doing something you love.” Adds Stephania Rodriguez ’14: “Step outside your comfort zone. Join a new club, become a resident assistant, take Flamenco lessons!”
  3. Get to know your professors. Says Brian Failing ’14: “Become a research assistant with a professor.” Jordon Pilgrim ’14 adds: “Talk with a professor about his or her career path.”
  4. Spend a term in Chicago. Says Alexandra Holtzen ’14: “Chicago Term is a great way to learn about Chicago in a whole new way. Professor Lou Corsino is full of amazing information.”
  5. Check out Naperville. Kayleigh Pryzgoda ’12 says, “Le Chocolat (in downtown Naperville) is perfect for soothing frayed nerves around finals.”
  6. Cheer on the Cardinals. Erick Ratzer ’12 says, “Go to Cardinal football games. Our team has been good and fun to watch. Get in the Cardinal spirit!”
  7. Plan a great D-Term. Carrie Myers ’12 recommends, “Take advantage of December Term. Go abroad, take a service trip, do something.”
  8. And . . . “If you like rock music and enjoy talking about it, do radio! I loved being a DJ at WONC … Join orientation staff. You will meet so many different people … Walk on the Riverwalk on a warm spring day … Throw a Frisbee around Jefferson Plaza.”
