Ericka Adams joins North Central’s sociology faculty in fall 2014

North Central College welcomed Assistant Professor of Sociology Ericka Adams, a newly appointed full-time, tenure-track faculty member for the 2014-2015 academic year, which started Sept. 15.

Before coming to North Central College, Adams served as visiting professor in the department of justice studies at San José State University. Her areas of expertise include crime and deviance in the Caribbean; outcome of policies regarding incarceration in the United States; and race, gender, inequality and the law.

She earned a B.A. in criminal justice from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, New York City, and an M.A. in criminal justice and Ph.D. in criminology, law and justice from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
