Shawna Rohrman joins North Central’s sociology faculty in fall 2014

North Central College welcomed Assistant Professor of Sociology Shawna Rohrman, a newly appointed full-time, tenure-track faculty member for the 2014-2015 academic year, which started Sept. 15.

Rohrman’s areas of research interest include mental health and illness, medical sociology, race and ethnicity (and more broadly, inequality), sociology of the life course, social psychology and quantitative research methods.

She has taught undergraduate courses in statistics for sociology, research methods in sociology and sociology of childhood; and graduate courses in categorical regression modeling and managing statistical research.

Rohrman received a B.A. in sociology and criminal justice from Baldwin-Wallace University (formerly Baldwin-Wallace College), an M.A. in sociology from the University of Akron, and a Ph.D. in sociology  from Indiana University.
