Scholar to deliver April 9 keynote address on “Leading with Purpose”

North Central College students, faculty, staff and community members are invited to attend the keynote “Leading with Purpose: Embracing Our Own Stories of Leadership” by Raymonda “Ray” Burgman, director of Higher Education Resource Services (HERS) Institutes in Denver.
The keynote will be held from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Thursday, April 9, in the lobby of Wentz Concert Hall at the Fine Arts Center, 171 E. Chicago Ave. Light refreshments will be served. Burgman is a scholar, practitioner and leadership consultant. “Leading with Purpose” provides an opportunity for current and aspiring leaders to consider their own stories and how those stories inspire purposeful leadership.
Burgman previously served as associate provost at New College of Florida and associate professor of economics and management at DePauw University. She received her doctorate in economics from the University of Florida. She is an alumna of the HERS Wellesley Institute and the Harvard Institute for Educational Management.
The keynote is presented by the Leadership, Ethics and Values program in partnership with the Office of Human Resources, the Office of Ministry and Service, the Cultural Events committee and the Naperville Area American Association of University Womean (AAUW).
