Wis is guest conductor and clinician with area high school ensembles

Ramona Wis, North Central College Mimi Rolland Professor in the Fine Arts, professor of music and director of choral activities, was guest conductor for the District 211 Honors Choir Festival held April 9 and 11 in Palatine. She also was guest clinician for two Windy City Classic Music festivals.

Wis rehearsed the 85-member honors choir, comprised of selected singers from Conant, Hoffman Estates, Palatine, Schaumburg and Fremd high schools, for two days and conducted the final evening performance on April 11 at Palatine High School.

In addition, Wis was a guest clinician for the March 28 Windy City Classic Music Festival held on North Central’s campus in Wentz Concert Hall and the April 17 Windy City Classic Music Festival held at the Prairie Center for the Arts in Schaumburg. The festivals featured high school touring ensembles from around the Midwest.
