Jun 19, 2015

Drew French, son of Mili and Robert French of Sugar Grove, was awarded the Outstanding Major in Art during Honors Day in May at North Central College.

A senior, Drew majored in studio art and marketing with a minor in art history at North Central College. His name has regularly appeared on the Dean’s List of scholars. He is a graduate of Kaneland High School.

Drew was a member of North Central College’s American Marketing Association. As an artist, he exhibited and coordinated a number of art exhibits on campus. Drew showcased a series of 2-dimensional sculptural paintings at the Senior Art Show, titled “Perspectives,” along with nine other students. He was a featured artist in two- and three-person art shows, with pieces ranging from drawings to mixed media. Drew held two internships at art museums, serving as a gallery assistant.

With plans to pursue graduate school, he would like to work as a gallery director.
